Abstract
One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a topical composition, comprising aptamer or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and an ionic liquid in an amount sufficient to allow a therapeutically effective amount of aptamer to reach a target depth within or beyond the skin, wherein the ionic liquid comprises a choline cation and a fatty acid anion. Another aspect of the present disclosure relates to a method of delivering a therapeutic DNA oligonucleotide, such as an aptamer, to or through a skin.

What is claimed is:
