Abstract

A furniture piece includes a first panel assembly, a second panel assembly, a third panel assembly, and a connecting assembly. The first and third panel assemblies are arranged opposite to each other, with the second panel assembly positioned therebetween. The first panel assembly includes a first joining surface. The second panel assembly includes a second joining surface and an opposite third joining surface. The third panel assembly includes a fourth joining surface. The first and second joining surfaces are in contact, and the third and fourth joining surfaces are in contact. The connecting assembly includes a connecting rod and a mating member. The connecting rod has a head and an opposite connecting end extending through the fourth, third, and second joining surfaces into the third panel assembly. The mating member is embedded in the first joining surface and engages the connecting end, while the head abuts the third panel assembly.

What is claimed is:

A furniture piece includes a first panel assembly, a second panel assembly, a third panel assembly, and a connecting assembly. The first and third panel assemblies are arranged opposite to each other, with the second panel assembly positioned therebetween. The first panel assembly includes a first joining surface. The second panel assembly includes a second joining surface and an opposite third joining surface. The third panel assembly includes a fourth joining surface. The first and second joining surfaces are in contact, and the third and fourth joining surfaces are in contact. The connecting assembly includes a connecting rod and a mating member. The connecting rod has a head and an opposite connecting end extending through the fourth, third, and second joining surfaces into the third panel assembly. The mating member is embedded in the first joining surface and engages the connecting end, while the head abuts the third panel assembly.
