Abstract
An apparatus includes a pixel array and micro lenses disposed above the pixel array. The pixel array includes sensing pixels and dark pixels spread out among the sensing pixels. The dark pixels have a repetitive pattern of a unit tile repeated along rows and columns of the pixel array.
