A method of manufacturing multi-piece closed-back isolation garments and well as a related apparatus therefor involving the placement of a cover strip segment on the backside of the garments. According to the method, a continuous torso web is cut into discrete torso web pieces. The discrete torso web pieces are adhered to a continuous shoulder web to join the discrete torso web pieces to the continuous shoulder web. A continuous cover strip segment is applied to the discrete torso web pieces and the continuous shoulder web using one or more adhesive strips to couple the discrete torso web pieces to the continuous shoulder web to form a continuous isolation garment web. The continuous shoulder web of the continuous isolation garment web is cut to provide discrete ones of the multi-piece closed-back isolation garments.
