An integrated monitoring and care system is provided for a user residing at a residence. A location device worn or carried by the user reports a location of the user relative to an allowed area associated with the user. A lockbox at the residence defines a plurality of bays each configured to receive a container storing a medication and includes a reader configured to authenticate an identity of the user utilizing one or more biometrics. A computing system in communication with the location device and the lockbox over a network generates an alert to a designated party associated with the user in response to the reported location being outside the allowed area, and causes the lockbox to release the medication from a selected one of the plurality of bays to the user in response to the reader authenticating the identity of the user utilizing the one or more biometrics.
