A cinema screen positionable in a theatre includes an array of tiles forming a light emitting display. Each tile features a support structure, such as a printed circuit board, supporting a matrix of individual light emitting elements. The light emitting elements possess a light emitter depth, and the support structure possesses a support structure depth, which together define a cumulative array depth. Spaces are formed as openings between adjacent light emitting elements. To allow sound waves to pass efficiently from loudspeakers positioned behind the cinema screen to a front viewing area facing the theatre seats, the openings are dimensioned to have a diameter equal to or greater than the cumulative array depth. Additionally, the openings form an area configured to accommodate a circular body having a diameter equal to or greater than a depth dimension of the opening area
