A system for transporting medication includes a pneumatic tube network connecting a dispensary storing a plurality of medications with a plurality of receiving stations. The network includes tube segments and at least one junction connecting the tube segments. One or more containers are driven through the network by compressed gas or suction, each container storing a medication associated with a user. One or more sensors detect a location of the containers within the network. A computing system in communication with the junction and the sensors controls one or more actuators of the junction to select a pathway routing the containers from the dispensary to a receiving station associated with the user, and tracks motion of the containers using the sensors. The receiving station secures the containers upon receipt and includes a reader receiving an identifier from the user, releasing the medication in response to the identifier.
