/To observe the characteristic ischemia-induced alterations in SVZ proliferation and migration, markers such as Ki67, Nestin, Vimentin, and Doublecortin(DCX) were assessed. Analysis of the proliferation marker Ki-67 revealed increased proliferation of stem cells in the MCAo groups in the SVZ. Evaluation of Nestin, a marker of neuroepithelial cells, revealed two distinct morphologies, where round-shaped cells were prominently dispersed throughout the walls of SVZ in all groups. However, process-shaped nestin-positive cells are present only in the MCAo groups.
